The A-team have arrived!
6 July 2010
Our amazing, astounding, all-talented team of individuals have arrived at LPO to prepare for the summer season of children's and youth clubs. We've scoured the UK to find the best equipped young people in order to deliver a high quality, high action programme for your kids. Sessions will include fun games, biblical content, creative prayer, engaging crafts, inspiring kids worship and much more!
The A-team are also getting involved with the evening entertainments running events in the bar and in the marquee.
Flash Floods Hit South-East France
19 June 2010
Further bad weather has caused chaos in the region of Var as torrential downpour caused severe flash flooding. 19 people have lost their lives and many more are stranded in their houses waiting for the waters to subside. The floods are thought to have been the nation's worst since 1827. We continue to pray for the families of those who lost their lives as well as the nation as a whole, as it attempts to recover from this tragic event.
LPO has been unaffected by the flood, although there were instances of bad weather.
The Toddlers Takeover!
22 June 2010
Parents and toddlers have been enjoying our toddler friendly weeks since the 7th June. In order to give mums and dads a break, our dedicated team have been providing fun activity sessions for little ones, including teddy bear picnics, treasure hunts and swimming pool games. After their huge success, the specialised toddler weeks will be returning to LPO next year.

Half Term Success!
8 June 2010
Over 700 guests enjoyed their stay at Le Pas Opton over half term. Here is a selection of the comments we’ve received since:
“The ministry of Andy was great and wonderfully to the point. I feel truly physically and spiritually refreshed.”
“We wish to thank you all, both in UK and at Pas Opton for all you did for us to make the holiday very enjoyable and everything went very smooth, travel etc, Please pass on our greetings to Andy Caldwell and tell him that 2 nearly 80 year olds were very blessed and much appreciated his relaxed talks.”
“I am just writing to thank you for a super holiday. We had a lovely, most relaxing time. You really did give us an excellent holiday of very high quality and nothing was too much trouble for you and your team. All the attention to detail and little extras and quality product make your customers feel very special and valued.”

Half term
26 May 2010

As half term approaches Chris, Laura and team are primed and ready for the arrival of keen holiday goers! Over 700 guests will be enjoying the four star facilities on site and exploring the stunning region of Western France. Weather forecasts are looking promising, with predicted (although not guaranteed!) temperatures of 22˚C which means plenty of lounging by the pool and visits to the beach!
Andy Caldwell, Senior Pastor at Mutley Baptist Church and friend of LPO, has prepared thought provoking bible studies and inspirational talks for adults to enjoy, a team of students from Moorlands Bible College are providing kids with activities, games, crafts and bible lessons throughout the week.
New-look changing rooms
04 May 2010
As work continues on preparations for the summer, our swimming pool changing rooms have received a welcome lick of paint, transforming them into a stunning beach scene.
A fantastic team of creative volunteers helped to fashion a tropical atmosphere including authentic wooden beach huts and a towering palm tree which makes getting changed just as fun as swimming!
Volcano eruption!
25 April 2010

Despite the current chaos surrounding international travel Le PasOpton has remained problem free! Luckily a lot of our guests and volunteers drive from the UK to France (keeping their carbon footprint low compared to flying!) and are therefore unaffected by the cancellation and delay of flights.
This time of uncertainty for the major flight companies presents an advantage for those looking to fly to LPO: There’s never been a cheaper time to fly.
Easyjet, Flybe and Ryanair are offering major discounts, including flights to Nantes airport – a short car journey away from LPO. This presents a fantastic opportunity to book good value, hassle free transport for your holiday this summer – and if you arrange your own travel when you book, we’ll knock £50 of your booking price!
Preparations underway
31 March 2010
As Spring arrives, so do the first wave of our volunteers. Each a year, groups of people who a have a heart for Le Pas Opton, come out and join the full-time team in preparing the holiday park for the summer season. They are involved in a whole host of activities which include: detail cleaning the mobile homes, putting up tents and managing the inventory in all the accommodation (making sure all the right pots and pans are there!). They also spend time doing the gardening; weeding the beds, mowing and edging the grass, preparing the hanging baskets and helping with the tree-planting - over 50 new trees have been planted for this season.
There's a wonderful sense of team and community amongst our volunteers - a real sprit of servant-heartedness.
Please do pray for these teams, that they can achieve all the tasks required, and that good weather prevails (as much of the work is outdoors!).

A close call!
02 March 2010
Thank you all for your prayers and thoughts for LPO and the team. The holiday park is a bit of a mess, with mud and debris strewn across it, but we have escaped any serious effects. There is no structural damage and none of our team have been injured, thank the Lord. However, as you can see, for one mobile home unit, it was a very close call.
Please pray for Chris, Jimmy and the team for all the additional work they now have in clearing and making repairs and give thanks that we were spared.
We continue to hold in our prayers, those who have been affected by the loss of life and destruction of businesses and property.

Worst storm in over 10 years hits the Vendee, many dead
01 March 2010
"Tempete Xynthia", a violent storm with hurricane force winds has hit Western France, leaving over 50 people dead. Some of the worst-hit areas include Charente-Maritime, home to the port of La Rochelle, and the Vendee - home to our very own Le Pas Opton. Whilst the holiday park has not yet been significantly affected, branches have been blown off trees and there is a risk of flooding if the rain persists.
We are praying for all those affected by the adverse weather, especially those who have lost loved ones or their homes
