Eurotunnel
If you can’t face a ferry crossing or you’re looking for the shortest crossing, Eurotunnel is the fastest way to cross the Channel at just 35 minutes. There are up to 4 crossings per hour and checking in and boarding is easy.

Eurotunnel crossing
Check-in is no later than 30 minutes before departure but no earlier than 2 hours before, using your booking reference and the credit/debit card you used to make your booking (and, of course, your passport!).
There are a number of cafés and shops at both ends of the Eurotunnel terminal and you can even check your emails before boarding as the terminal buildings now have free Wifi.
