22 – 27 May
Nigel Cameron and Julie Cameron-Hall
Nigel and Julie have many years of leadership experience in Baptist churches, but are currently members of a ‘Fresh Expressions’ Church of England called ‘The Point’ in Burgess Hill. Each accomplished musicians, the couple have several albums to their names. They also serve as chaplains at ‘The People Greenhouse’ in Bexhill and travel widely throughout Europe ministering to others.
Julie and Nigel will be supported by Epiphany, an ensemble of professional classical musicians, led by Richard Williamson. They bring beautiful, anointed, worshipful music to many different events and situations.
Many of Epiphany’s musicians play in leading orchestras and ensembles throughout the UK and Europe; they believe music and the arts have the capacity to bring new perspectives and to relieve stress in our fast paced world.
This short break offers a led retreat as part of your holiday. Expect to go deeper with God through daily worship and Bible study sessions, as well as thought-provoking individual tasks. Come for a few days spiritual detox.
For all who need refreshment
It’s a great escape for rest, refreshment and fresh vision, all in the context of a relaxed French holiday – without the need to miss Sunday at your own church. Whether you’re in church leadership or just need a short break from your usual pace of life, these few days promise a holiday infused with deep refreshment and rediscovery of who you are in Christ.
Each morning at 10am, a time of reflective worship with improvised music from Epiphany will lead into Julie & Nigel offering Psalm-based Bible teaching. Nigel will illustrate themes from the session through photography and invite you to share you own images later in the day.
Through the rest of the day, you’ll have plenty of space and time to reflect on what you’ve heard, as well as enjoying all the local area has to offer and soaking up some French culture.
Afternoons offer the opportunity to sign up for your individual Sound Portrait, where Epiphany play over you as they are inspired to create a piece of music they believe captures aspects of your identity. Many people have been incredibly moved by what they’ve heard, often hearing God speak through the music as a soundtrack to their lives. Each Sound Portrait is unique and a recording can be taken away. For more info see: www.epiphanymusic.org.uk/sound-portraits
At 6pm each evening, Julie & Nigel will lead a session on themes of ‘identity’ to help you understand your role in God’s plan. The teaching is designed to leave you with questions and a responsive time of worship will allow for reflection and prayer ministry. There will also be time for sharing reflections on your day. On some nights there will be, activities later in the evening, including a pub quiz, wine and cheese tasting and an informal concert from the Epiphany musicians on site.
