"So many people had a great time!"
Steve Robbins, Deputy Park Manager, shares his highlights of a fantastic summer at LPO.
Well, the guests have all gone, the tents are all taken down, most of the mobile homes have been "put to bed" for the winter and an air of quiet calm pervades the site. What a contrast to the end of August, where we had around 1150 people on site and activity everywhere! A team here will now be working throughout the winter to ensure that the park is ready for the 2012 season. It was great to see so many people having a great time! We had our share of rain this year (as I believe UK did also), but as I write this we are experiencing the same heatwave!
For me, the most memorable moments of 2011 were (in no particular order): taking a lady canoeing on the River Vie; seeing the Le Pas Opton gospel choir performing; seeing parents in difficult situations getting the break they deserved; seeing, and hearing of, the work God did in the lives of many of those who came here; and watching our cleaning team relaxing at the end-of-season lunch.
Blessings,
Steve
